Now A Word From …
Posted by WhiteCoat on February 28, 2008
This is my first foray into a different aspect of blogging, so bear with me.
I have received several requests to put up ads on this blog. I have had mixed feelings about doing so. On one hand I don’t want to appear biased or as if I’m writing this blog just for the money, but on the other hand, Mrs. WhiteCoat regularly slaps me upside my head and asks me what I am thinking when I have turned down advertising offers in the past. I guess I feel weird about making a little money for doing something that I enjoy so much - aside from medicine.
Here’s something that I don’t have any mixed feelings about:
ScrubsGallery.com offered to sponsor a contest if I put up an ad for their site on this blog. Instead of taking any money for myself, here’s what I came up with:
ShadowFax is now in a heated battle with some shyster lawyer to see who can earn the most money for St. Baldrick’s children’s charity. He has already reached his goal of $10,000 and his beautiful head of hair is soon going to be history.
ScrubsGallery.com has offered to donate $10 to ShadowFax’s efforts, up to a total of $500, for each purchase made at the ScrubsGallery.com web site. Buy a scrub top for $15 and $10 of your purchase goes to St. Baldricks. Buy a lab jacket for $18 and $10 of your purchase goes to St. Baldricks. Buy a stethoscope for $9.95 and St. Baldricks still gets $10. Even better is that you get free shipping on orders more than $29.
I can’t think of too many down sides to this proposition. Health professionals whoop on the legal professionals, ShadowFax ends up bald, and children’s cancer research reaps the benefits.
So if you need scrubs, lab coats, or other medical supplies, please consider going to ScrubsGallery.com to make your purchase. March 14 is the big date for Shadowfax. Order soon.
