Posted by WhiteCoat on May 6, 2008

This site got forwarded to me by a friend.

Very cool how you can type in a bunch of symptoms and have the program come up with a list of possible diagnoses.

Another addition to my “Links” page.

Not really. I like this site.

Some of these tools are somewhat useful, but require a lot of input and time from the user. I wonder how many people take advantage of them.

Here’s another free diagnosis tool like this one: http://www.diagnose-me.com

Wow - this is fun! I typed in tired/exhausted/fatigue and got one hell of a list of possible causes ranging from head trauma to hookworm, exposure and leukemia!
What I’m really suffering from is dealing with idiots all day long - that doesn’t get covered in their diagnostics.
    Pity - I think it’s pretty common.

Hey, I need some help, here. I’m trying to diagnose someone’s problem, but I don’t know the words to enter into that website. What are the right terms for the following “symptoms”:

    1. Can’t belch to expel gas from stomach - indigestion?
    2. Gagging as a result of gas in stomach -
    3. Spittle rapidly becoming really, really long and stringy - tenacious sputum?
    4. Spittle rapidly returning to normal from the state described in #3

What are the medical terms for these, please?

Dr. Whitecoat, thanks for the help. I put that in there and got nothing useful. But it was worth a try.
